Assistance during COVID 19

March 23, 2020

As trainers are preparing to return to Ontario with horses that have been outside of the Province they are returning to uncertain conditions. As everyone should be aware individuals returning from outside of Ontario will be required to self-isolate for a minimum of 14 days. This will obviously require alternate plans for the care of any horses that are returning to the Province. If you are in a position to assist these trainers and their horses upon their arrival please contact the OHHA office and we will make sure that the trainers that contact us can reach you.

As well, if you have private stabling accommodations that are available and would be willing to assist, this would be helpful in segregating those horses, the trainers and their employees.

Limiting exposure, social distancing and proper hygienic practices will hopefully minimize the exposure to COVID-19 and minimize the impact of this disease and control further transmission.

OHHA is continuing to work with Government officials in order to ensure that horsepeople have the necessary supports that they require to assist them through these unprecedented times.
