Horsepeople Survey (Owners, Breeders/Stud farms, Trainers)

Horsepeople Survey (Owners, Breeders/Stud farms, Trainers)

Thank you for taking the time to participate in this important study to quantify the economic impact of the Ontario horse racing sector. Your input will help ensure that the study captures a diverse range of data that accurately reflects the horse racing industry’s profile and economic footprint.  The more horse owners, breeders and trainers that participate, the better the data will be for estimating the full economic impact.

We assure that your confidentiality will be protected. Only personnel associated with Ontario Lottery & Gaming – Horse Racing will have access to your responses, which will be maintained in a secure environment after the project. Results will be presented in the aggregate – sets of questions will be totaled, then those totals will be averaged. The reporting of the study will provide no opportunity for anyone to identify you or your business information.

All questions refer to 2018. You may use the calendar year or, if you prefer, your fiscal year 2018/19. If you have your 2018 (calendar or fiscal) financial records in hand, this survey should take roughly 30 minutes to complete.

Please note:

Due to the survey design (including tables) it is strongly recommended that you complete this survey on a desktop/laptop computer than on a tablet/mobile device.

Once started, survey responses are automatically saved. If you are interrupted while responding and are unable to complete the entire survey in one sitting, simply revisit the survey link to continue.

As a token of our appreciation for completing the survey, you will have the opportunity to opt-in to receive a copy of the high-level results once the study has been completed. To be eligible, you must complete the entire survey and indicate your preferred mode of contact by 10:00 PM on Monday, August 26, 2019. The results will be sent to you at the end of the study, which is currently set to be completed before the end of 2019.
